| The modern CCTV / Surveillance system is centered around a DVR (Digital Video Recorder),
which is usually integrated into a local area network with a broadband internet connection.
The DVR contains all of the system's intelligence--when and how video is recorded and played back.
The diagram below shows a basic configuration. In an effort to reduce clutter
on the diagram below, a number of options have been omitted. To learn more about what a DVR is, click here. Please check out the

section to learn more about additional components that are available to customize your installation so that
all of your CCTV needs are met. The diagram shows a router already installed. If your current setup is
just a modem connected to a PC, WattWire will be happy to install an inexpensive router to accommodate more
internet devices (such as a DVR) and even setup a wireless network for you.
