"Video Surveillance Solutions for Home and Business"
8 Channel WS-XLA H.264 DVR                                                Web Interface using Internet Explorer
Welcome to the DVR Demo!  Before we get started on accessing our demo DVR, let's cover some basics about the DVR and how your web browser will log on to it.  The first thing to know is that it allows simultaneously access by multiple users.  Secondly, there are no less than 5 ways interface methods.

1. Buttons and knobs on the front panel to access the graphical user interface (GUI).
2. Using a USB mouse to navigate the GUI.
3. Using the IR remote to navigate the GUI.
4. Logging into the DVR via the Internet Explorer and an ActiveX plug-in.
5. Logging into the DVR via the included Central Monitoring Software with advanced features.

This demo uses the Internet Explorer browser (#4).  Because other browsers like Firefox do not support ActiveX (Microsoft Standard), the  Internet Explorer must be used. This is true for virtually all makes of DVRs.

Normally, the ActiveX plug-in is downloaded and installed from the DVR the first time your browser tries to access its web server. The only hitch is that you have to let IE know that it's okay to download the plug-in. This isn't hard though, just follow the procedure below.
Installing the ActiveX Plug-in

Within the Internet Explorer, look at the Top Toolbar:

1. Click     =>"Tools"     => "Internet Options" (at the bottom)

2. The Internet Options dialog box will appear.
Click:     => "Security" tab     => "Trusted Sites" icon     => "Sites" button

3. This brings up the Trusted Sites dialog box. Perform in listed order:

        a)  Make sure the "Require server verification (https:)" box is unchecked.
        b)  Type in http://WW.webhop.net in the "Add this website in the zone" text box.
Note: there are only two Ws before ".webhop.net". This URL is NOT case sensitive.
        c)  Click:     =>"Add" button     =>"Close" button.  (In IE V6 the button will say "Ok")

4. You are now returned to the "Internet Options" dialog box.
    Click:    => "Custom level..." button.

5. The final dialog box appears, "Security Settings - Trusted Sites Zone"
Scroll down and find the "Download unsigned ActiveX controls" option.
Click & set:    => "Prompt" radio button.     => "Ok" button to close dialog box.

6. Close the "Internet Options" dialog box clicking the "Ok" button.

Log on to the DVR (Run The Demo)
You will need a user name and password to login. Among other things, the DVR is a sophisticated networking computer running the Linux operating system which allows the creation of user accounts with various "rights" turned on or off.  As the administrator, you would be able to add users and define which cameras they could access.   For this demo (open to the world), video playback has been disabled.  Of course you won't be able to change settings, but we've given you the right to go in and take a look at the menus for doing so.  As an administrator, you'd be able to completely configure the DVR over the internet, including mangaging user accounts and recording settings.

To obtain a user name & password, please send an email to:  demo@wattwire.net

Once you have your user name & password, click the button below:

Remember, first time demo access will invoke IE to prompt you and install the ActiveX control. Please follow the prompts to install the control which we've tested to be safe for your computer.

The first time the demo software loads up takes a little longer than usual, so please be patient.
Quick Start Guides to Navigating the Web Client
The Web Service client software employs an easy-to-use graphical interface.  However, for those new to working with remote DVR viewing software, there may be some operations that are not completely intuitive.  To help you get up and running quickly, we've prepared a mocked up screen you can access below.  Clicking the link will display bring up a separate window so that you may toggle back and forth using the "Alt-Tab" key combination.
